Try googling or Yellow Pages usually an independent car key expert in every town.
Sometimes associated or part of a general key cutters.
I don't know if Scooby keys can be done but when we lost a key to our Micra local Nissan dealership recommended a local chap, cheaper than them! We had another for the coding larky.
Didn't need in end 'cos nice person found key and posted it 'cos it had tag from credit card protection firm on.

It i es daylight robbery, however you are stuck with this because they have to decode all the other keysfrom the ECU and then recode your new keys. I had this recently, which forced me into a determined search for the lost items.
Would have cost me £170 to replace the key and the separate alarm fob. Found the keys in the bin, just about to go to the tip. To say I was relievd is putting it mildly.
My suggestion would be that you ring around various dealers and see if you can get an improvement on the price. Talk to third party suppliers like David Hendry in Malmsbury who should be able to help provided you know what your 2 sets of key number codes are.
Good luck chap.

Yep they are joking....
After recieving this peice of marketing crap:
Out of curiosity to see if they had cut their prices by 58% I phoned about some rear brake pads for a MY97 (single pot)....£60+vat ...and that was the trade price too
FFS I can get rear pad for an NSX cheaper.

Why can't all dealers use the expertise that is available though. BMW charged us £110 for a new key(Subaru £144) as only got one with the car. When they were using the existing key to code it I asked if they could change the battery on the existing one as it might need it. Oh no they said. Does'nt have a battery to change. It's recharged every time you use the car.
What a bloody good idea

Had the car a year now and no probs with either key. Hold their charge till the next time you use them. Never heard of any Bmw owner having a prob with it either. Seems a great idea but don't know any other car manufacturers that do it.
