Unhappy

Having read a few of the threads on this board regarding octane boosters I thought I would give it a go, since I am always a little concerned about running my STi IV on 97 octane SUL. I therefore bought a bottle of Millers SVP plus. The label does not mention anything to do with catalytic converters, and as far as I know the car has its original exhaust system. Having used this product, should I now be worried about potential damage?

XRS.

You need Millers Octane Plus mate. See Mike T at Scoobymania - approx. £30 per case of 10 plus P&P.

Run a search on octane booster under drivetrain as it was discussed at length a month or so ago.

Cheers,

Jon.

Plus is for CAT/non CAT cars.
If you run no cats then you can put 2 bottles in per 50litres SUL fuel.

So it looks like I've done some damage already.
Does anyone know what I should do to get out of this?

Any advice gratefully received.

Running quite nicely at the moment (but I'm driving very slowly).

Call Millers direct on 01484 713201 & speak to their tech people (very helpful)
As I understand it SVP is for competition use & is MUCH stronger than Plus. I would also guess that "flushing" it out with a full tank of fuel would also be on the cards (though finding any petrol at present will be a task in itself !!)

Good Luck.

Brew,
Thanks for the tip. I have spoken to Millers (very helpful as you said) and it seems that if I take it easy it is unlikely that I will do any harm with only one tankful.
I have now resolved to get the proper stuff(Octane Plus).

Try contacting Auto-Tecnica (01924 494 884) Apparantly they can sell you a box of 10 bottles of Plus for £25 (not sure if thats inc P&P)
Havn't actually called them myself yet (as I have 8 bottles left) so if they can do this price let us know as its the cheapest I have seen !
