Colour codes? And power output??
My car is a late 1996, facelift classic STi Wagon. On comparing the metal plate from the engine bays details to a web site i found a couple of things i am not sure about have cropped up.
Firstly, the colour code is 62D, i cannot find any record of this on any sites and also a mate with the Subaru colour chips couldnt find it either.
It also says that the power output is 300 PS, whereas i thought JDM cars were limited to 280 PS through the gentlemans agreement.
Site i used was www.iwoc.co.uk
Hope someone can help me with this as i need some spraying doing in the near future.

I'm not to sure where to find information about colour codes, but as for the technical side of this there are a few good site worth looking at.
http://www.ravensblade-impreza.com/t...y/history.html
And.
www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm
As far as i can see you car my96 is a STi 2 maybe a very early STi 3 and shold produce betwen 256 and 275 PS (on 100 RON fuel) depending on where you look, not sure if the wagon had the same power as the saloons though.
I'm sure someone will come along and enlighten you soon.

Its a version 3 Sti, an early one. The colour of the car is a dark blue which looks sparkly in some lights and also has a tinge of purple.
If you look on the list at 5 door wagon STi's built at this time they both have 300 PS on the iwoc web site, but i have seen it on another at 280 PS. It also says V-Ltd after one of the models with the same chassis number as mine, which could explain the strange colour code maybe??? I am new to Impreza's and like i said need some spraying very very soon.
Thanks for the replies so far folks
If you look at this page,http://www.iwoc.co.uk/jpimp4.html my car has a chassis number of GF8D5ED
