Unhappy Warning for those with Prodrive mudflaps!

Had all four black Prodrive mudflaps fitted to my STi8 earlier this year. Unfortunately I now only have two - the front ones. Both of the back ones got ripped off when reveresing up kerbs as they got caught between the tyre and the kerb. Not helped as I have the STi spring kit as well.

Need to see if the dealer thinks they can be fitted back on as the holes in the wheeel arch where they were attached to were also ripped away.

Just be warned.

Peter

Ouch!! Sorry to hear that mate and thanks for the heads up. I hope it doesn't cost too much to put right.

You are right - perhaps should have left out the Prodrive bit in the title, but not sure if the Prodrive ones hang any lower than other types.

Just wanted to post it so others can learn from my misfortune!

My dad has had the same problem with the SWRT blue ones. The rear ones he has put on the height point. The front right has come off as well and has torn the edge

The solution is DON'T drive you kerbs!!!!

Unfortunately not driving up kerbs isn't an option where I live

Anyway, am moving soon to an alloy wheel (and mudflap!!) friendly street!

On a similar note guys,

Be careful if you have PFF7 wheels and roll your car at 140 mph, they will break!!!!

Same thing happened to me a while ago, except it was the nearside front flap that caught between the wheel and the kerb (don't ask) ... ripped the mudflap clean off and badly rippled my front wing result - new wing and respray

Also had problems with them catching on the ground while cornering... now on the second set which i mounted slightly higher. Mine aint the prodrive ones, DIY sparco jobs.

I'll go along with that.........................I kerbed mine this morning tring to get past my girlfreinds car in the yard.
I've only had the wheels on for 2 weeks. If she parks so I can't get out I am going to park her car in the neighbouring field.

This happens a lot with landrovers fitted with mudflaps, if you see a Lanny with is flaps tie-rapped up you now know why...
