I have opted to do a conversion on a 1991J subaru mv 284 pick up. What are they based on, and do they share any impreza components. I need to know what the suspension layout is and where i can get lowering/uprated springs from. That is the first stage,Then an engine conversion, Can you help.

MV's or Brat's (as they were known as in the US) are based on the L series.
Not a lot of Impreza/Legacy parts fit.
How about a 3.3 SVX engine with an WRX gearbox. Converted to take Subaru wheels.
This one has been converted by Mike Rivett (www.rivettautos.co.uk) It's his own and a little battle scared from years of off road abuse.
We didn't even know the engine would fit when we started. It only just did
Need tidying and a full respray but it's just a fun hack not a show car
Peugeot 205 wheels are a direct fit
There was one from Oz in a Lax power mag a few months ago with a WRX/STI engine.
