And to the 70 people who read this thread and didn't bother replying...shame on you !

If you don't complain nothing will get done about it

All it would have taken is 10 minutes of your time

It's always faster in the morning, and much slower in the evening - presumably because it's busier in the evening.

What I don't understand is why when you press the back button in your web browser scoobynet has to reload its content from its web servers. That puts loading on the server that is not required imo, not to mention the cost of the additional bandwidth used. On a site like this I bet it's a considerable cost.

Either that or the wheel needs a bit of grease.

Good point, I can understand the re-fresh due to new posts on thread. But it also seems to re-load every single gif jpeg and all of frame layouts too, I'm not sure why my browser can't cache them and just update the text (probably too complex).

TBH, us non-paying members cannot really complain as we haven't coughed up £25 to join this site so we haven't got the right to complain for what is essentially a free service for us, but this place has to be costing someone a fair amount of cash to run.

But if I had joined, I'd be a little annoyed at the lack of interest that the webmaster is showing towards the speed issue.
I've just got used to it now..

Too right.

I'm amazed plus members haven't been more vocal over this, especially seeing they payed for it! Out of all the replyers on the involved threads, only seven are plus members...two of which are Mods

Same here. Some days dog slow, others lightning quick. I did flag up a strange phenomenen in Bugs where the last post on a thread wasn't showing up. Maybe the database needs re-indexing. Didn't get any show of concern though
