EVO 7 FQ 260 , spend 3495.00 and get 387.1 bhp !

http://www.wrc-tech.co.uk/performance-upgrades.htm

Ive got a wrx04 ppp at the moment, but how can i argue with the above ?

on my second scoob at the moment, and have always done basic mods like. spring,pads,re-mapp, de-cat induction etc

never gone turbo FMIC det meters equal lenth headers and blarr blarr as i dont have that kinda dosh

ive stuck with the ppp because of warrenty, but have changed my mind

ive looked at the following ideas that wont work out

spec c - cant afford, kids soon ): (:
JDM sti - as above
911 newage -as above

so , im left with..............

Keep the 04wrxppp and change wheels and mod to 320 ish (expensive to do ?)
sell wrx and get 02/03 sti and have the tsl 333 fitted ?
sell wrx , buy evo (heave ho) 7 , spend 3500 and get a huge 387 bhp ?

Ok, for those with balanced views let me just box of a few concerns

1 not worried about warrenty, yes i know im mad, and yes i understand the serverity of the risks involved

2 Not worried about 4k services,fuel

3 Dont mind having a car a few years old, im no status symbol freak, im a power freak

4 breaks and suspension will and should be taken care of first

5 Buy a bike instead? already own and track day a modded zx10r

6 bhp sells cars, torq wins races

7 Looks ? not worried .. just power please

8 Understand its a contradition, but some reliability would be v important, but not warranty important

Budget 21k

When = 3 months

Car types = scoob or evo (4 doors)

Help ?????????????? im going mad !

I need wisdom and direction , because i dont know what to do,

the budget is at max, please dont dangle a carrot ):

Hi mate,

If I had £21k I'd buy a new EU import 05 STI, maybe not get A-DCCD for 21k, but you can always get the PPP done at a later date when you've saved a bit more and run the thing in.

PS I realise UK cars are coming with free PPP but you won't get one for less than £25.5k..!

Euro (UK) spec evo, basically looses value like its a ford mondeo so yes what seems a bargain now wont be later on (and you will also loose your 3 yr warranty).
These are also not quite as good as the JDM spec cars, which the MR series are based on (1400kg v 1470kg).

Have a word with Chris at WRC he will be happy to give you 360 lb ft in a recent STi for less than that - allegedly

To get a bit **** for a moment (my speciality )

There is no Evo 7 FQ 260

The 260 is an Evo8, and has no FQ tag.

Standard 7's & 8's are 'stated' to be 276 ish BHP, but are closer to 300
The FQ models are 300, 320, 330, 340 or (Yum) 400

Personally, I'd go for an 8FQ whatever, then shop around and see what's available mod wise. Good news for a used buyer is that with the 9's now coming through prices for 8's seem to be dropping like lead ballons.

It's a matter of personal taste, but I'd take the Evo before the Scooby all day. Though I've yet to experience a spec-c or T-25.

Surely an 03/04 JDM Sti would be in budget - plenty of scope for modding too ?

why not buy a used JDM STI blobeye? there are two in the for sale section one i think is only 16.5k ono. swap the exhaust and a have a remap you should have around 350bhp with bags of torque to match.

You say you want to buy a second hand evo 7 spend 3.5k modding not worried about service costs but can not afford a spec c or jdm sti hmmm
