Question Sonic Blue / WR Blue MY00 UK Turbo?

Just wondering what the differences are between these paint codes for the 1999/2000 UK Turbo's. Also, could anyone please provide me with any information about how rare these colours are for this model?

if i remember, P1 came in sonic blue, as did euro import impreza of that age

don't know about wr blue but deep blue mica was a standard colour for my00, possibly my99 aswell.

basically they're probably totally different colours mate

Thank you for the help hoskib, Im in the market for a MY00 Turbo and personally like the WRX type blue (Standard Bug-eye on, Blue) as apposed to the standard Turbo Dark Blue, so far i've found limited numbers of the Turbo in the preferred colour, which makes me assume it is rare.

no worries, if i'm wrong no doubt someone will be along in a mo to correct me

if the colour you're after is a lighter shade of blue than the dark blue metallic then it's more than likey an import if it's not a P1. euro or jdm i wouldn't know, but do your homework before you buy (especially insurance!)

hmm good point - heres one i was looking at:

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW...00520193252047

This is the colour I'm after - is this a standard UK Turbo or import?

Also i've seen one or two bug-eye 2001 Turbo's are these real or again some kind of import.

I appreciate the help, Thank You

the advert reads like a uk car (turbo 2000) but quoting the wrx as a paint colour seems odd. as far as i'm aware the only blue of this age for a uk car was the dark blue. i guess a call to the owner of the car is the only way to know for sure.

full subaru service history would point towards a uk car? i know most don't touch jdm cars, but i'm not sure about euro imports.

as a side note the colour looks like the terzo which was a limited edition in 98(i think) paint code for that was 74F

2001 is the last classic/ first bug eye i believe

classic uk turbos never had the sonic blue 74f , (98 terzo exception) or as they call 74f sonic blue now wr blue , (six shades all in all)
p1 was 74f alsobut thats hardly a uk turbo

it was only on the import`s ,

so looks like its had a full respray , i did it to myuk 98 turbo from green !!!!

youve got the reg of the car there , phone up tesco to insure it , they`ll come to you with the colour it originally was , or listed , if not changed on there systems --- bet it was green ---

don't let my limited (very) knowledge of scoobies put you off anything, just ask the question of wether it's an import or not, probably a slight mix up on his part and it's a total cosha car.

imports of any kind aren't a problem, just know what you're buying

Nah dont worry about it, I appreciate any advice, I do like the look of that colour but if its going to be an import or a higher spec then i dont stand a chance of insuring it.

Just to clarify:

- The only official UK classic shape car to come in the brighter blue (WR blue / sonic blue) was the P1
- For a while there was a 'reddish blue' which isn't too far off
- Dark blue mica and deep blue mica are the much darker colours which are common on the UK car. They're slightly different, I forget which years had which.
- Sonic blue was available on European and Japanese imports. There really isn't any reason to run away from one, insurance needn't cost any more and the independent specialists you should be looking to use to service and repair it certainly won't care.

the car u are looking at is almost certainly a UK spec euro import (dutch or belguim). Subaru dealers would service these vehicles as they were importer from the 'EU'
Sonic blue was only available in the Uk on P1 and 22b.
