Just got a parking ticket in my local village, damn, damn, damn! £30 if I pay within 15 days, or £60 if I pay after, damn.
Then read the back carefully......................................... ...........
the numptie warden had written my registration wrong!
Null and void I think, yea!
Lucky bugger, better get a lottery ticket today

Not sure how you go about this.
If you appeal the ticket on the grounds that the info is wrong, then you are admitting that it was you that received the ticket.
The other route is to do nothing. If they do manage to get in touch with you, you say that you have never got a ticket. Then you ask for a copy of the ticket they issued, and point out that it was for a different car.
I would be tempted to follow option 2, but have a read from other sites to see what to do. I think Pepipoo may be able to help one this one, not sure though.

luminous, the registration is the only thing that ties my car to the scene. If they dont have "my" registration, how can they ever prove I was there?
If they do a search for a car with the reg. they have, it won't be addressed to me
chris.

Your tax disc number will also have been taken That can also tie you to the scene.
I agree that I think you can get away with this. Regardless of which method you take, I think you will succeed. I was just wondering which method is likely to be the easiest.
