Default Is a S202 worth getting?

Hello, my first post here, I went to look a Impreza today as I might be getting one.

I took a ride in a MY2002 S202, I was wondering if the car worth getting over a 280bhp Impreza or is it best to save the £4000 extra and use the money on the 280bhp car to acheive the same thing?

I didn't drive the car but whilst in the drivers seat I was engauging the clutch and to me it seemed stiff, is this normal for imprezas? I drive a Integra Type R and the clutch in that feels like a Arcade Game pedal, real loose and soft, can anyone advise on this one?

Anyone got any tips on what to look out for in regards to wear and tear if I go back to see this or another car as I'm not too familair with the ins and outs of the Impreza yet.

Thanks

Definately worth getting, 320ps out of the factory, titanium back box, uprated grooved brembo discs, spec c shell, uprated engine over those of the same and previous years, very rare car in the uk, if you get one, best to keep it pretty standard, they are very good just like that and dont need much doing to them

One of the best scoobs you can get for the money imho. Worth it for the rarity value alone.

I know I might be asking the wrong thing here, this car was designed to go up against the FQs right? I can't find specs as to what the S202 can do, has anyone one any specs at all?

With everyone telling me this is a gem, it looks like I'm going to be spending some money he he!

The exhaust note was way good as I revved it in neutral today.

IMHO no, the S202 is a complete package STI went right through the car re specifying and re engineering many of the standard STI parts so that they can cope with the extra torque/BHP

Rasher,
For your interest, the Yellow STi in the EVO article was Paul Gees STI on here.
He brought it to Northern Meet 7.
Your your car was in attendance with its previous owner as well.

His was also the 22B off the Jeremy Clarkson Head to Head Video which attended NM3, NM4, NM5, NM6.

Cheers

Rasher,
Sorry, I keep mixing you up with some one else.
We discussed this before.
Your christian name is the same as the owner of the STi S202 I am referring too.
I have the memory of a seive.

This thread mentions the car I am on about.
