Default Sat Nav for France??

Could do with Sat Nav for travelling through France this summer - what's the cheapest way of doing it, aside from the missus and a map?

I bought myself a PDA (mio 168) with 'tomtom' software. Comes with a built-in GPS receiver, so need for extra aerial leads etc (and you can take it out on a walk with u!).
About the same price as a dedicated car unit, but with the extra functions of a PDA

Cool

Get a Navman PiN it comes with all the european map software and works out the box so no need to buy extra stuff. the Device is a Mio 168 so as albob said it is a complete portable unit.

However do not use a 1gb sd card in it as it will not work properly.

Same here but if you switch the maps off then switch them on and try to reload them then they do not reload, it is due to memory addressing. The device actually only supports a 256mb card but the bigger cards work. I have a 512mb and it works fine. The 1gb card works ok until I switched the maps off, now they will not reload inspite of them being visible in the file manager. I contacted support and told them about the problem ans they told me 1gb is not supported and all thought it might work there are memory addressing problems with it.
