That Lovely Burble / oh and what workshop manuals are there?
Is the Turbo / wrx firing sequence different than normal? Is that what helps produce that lovely uneven burble (engine burble) ?
I ask because I have a standard 2.0l GL (Dont shoot me- I needed an automatic) It's a MY97 car.
I was wondering if I could have my cars firing sequence altered so I can get a bit of growl? I guess if it's even possible it would be to do with re-mapping the ECU?
Also Haynes don't seem to cover the impreza, are there any workshop manuals of the equiv detail that they would go into for the classic Impreza??
Cheers in advance

the burble's caused by unequal length headers, the ones on n/a Imprezas are virtually equal length, hence no turbo style burble. This could be changed but you would need someone to custom fabricate some headers for you and it would rob power from your car in the process.
There are workshop manuals available on line, the Impreza is not popular enough for Haynes to make a manual for it.
Let me know if you need links to the manuals, and come and join us on www.imprezasport.net , loads of info on n/a impreza's on there

What about a bulk emailing of Haynes saying why don't they do one? They can't turn round and say not enough demand to bother making one if they've just had 1000 emails.
I notice they're advertising a new Mini manual, must be more Impreza's around than new Mini's, they've only been made for a couple of years. And anyway who's ever heard of any BMW owner even opening the bonnet let alone working on the car?
I guess what would kill it would be the sheer number of different models, would a classic model Haynes manual be any use to a bug-eye owner for example?
Did similar 20 years ago when I was in the RS Owners Club (when it was a real performance car club before the FWD wannabees came along) and we got an RS2000 Haynes manual made. So it can be done.

Plus didn't want a wagon and had to be blue, so to get a saloon in blue that was jap grey import would not have been do-able easily - cos they're:-
