Question ECU Reset

This Might Sound Daft, But I Have Just Started Using NF Race OB / With Optimax, Im Going To Carry Out A ECU Reset Using Green Connectors Under Dash, But If It Comes Up With A Fault Code, Will It Still Reset To Use My New Fuel Mix, Cars A 94 WRX.
I Guess Anyway I Should Carry Out The Reset...
Thanks

RESETTING FAULT CODES
if you connect the black one together and not the green ones. then turn on the ignition without starting. youll get the stored fault codes show up as short and long pulses of the cel light. ( do this before a reset as the stored faults will be lost.)
the codes will be as long pulses for 10's and short pulses for units.
so 21 ( coolant temp sensor fault) would be........ long pulse, long pulse, short pulse
constant 0.5 second on off pulses is the all ok code

RESETTING THE ENGINE ECU
lay in drivers footwell, look up behind steering column.
you’ll see two small black and two small green connectors ( possibly still taped up)
with ignition off
connect green to green
connect black to black
turn on ignition without starting.
depress throttle for couple of seconds. ( you’ll hear fan kick in and out etc)
start engine and drive for around a minute keeping revs over about 1500rpm until the engine check light comes on. it will flash on and off and on and off evenly
pull over and turn off ignition, and disconnect the leads.
all done, now go for short 10 mile drive for ECU to do a little learning ( varied driving)
