Track days
Never done one but would love to.
Any ideas where to go for my first track day with low risk off ******* up and crashing my car?
Thanks
Ray

if you haven't yet done a track day you MUST....it's a crying shame otherwise. I dont really understand why anyone would have an STI and not track it (at least once!). You can only get a small appreciation of what these cars can do on the road - the track allows you to go for it in relative safety. I will not spoil the experience for you by telling you how bl##dy good it is - just do it. Donnington is also a great track and fairly safe too - you can book direct for day or evening sessions on their website - isn't far from you (and me, as I'm from your neck of the woods also).

i'd go for donnington if it's your 1st and it's nearer to you. Maybe more expensive but not much in it. Run your tyres at higher pressures otherwise you'll knacker your sidewalls, make sure your front pads have life in them and go enjoy!

Try an airfeild day, there is nothing to hit apart from grass! They are cheaper than track days but not as much fun.
www.motorsport-events.co.uk are the people I go with. At Hullavington they also rent out a Noble M12 GTO3 for £10 a lap, which is nice

1st of all i would not go on a scooby event trackday for your 1st trackday.
The reason for this is that as much as you think you wont and hold back the adrenalin will take over and will lead to you getting into some racing with other scoobs which isnt a bad thing but could lead to you putting the car off or even an accident, its better that you get use to the car and the track 1st to get some experience with your car then you can have a play with other scoobs.
Dont let this put you off trackdays because ive done quite a few trackdays now and you can get alot more out of your car than you would get on the road and its licence friendly, most of the time we go to donnington park through trackzone with alot of different cars and very few scoobys but you will still be tempted to have a play, the difference is your not trying to beat one of your fellow competitors
The other thing is make sure you listen very clearly to the breifing before your day out this is very important, you might think your the worlds best driver but the one that dont listen to the briefing could cost alot of money.
Dont forget to check your oil + water and keep your eye on the tempretures.
Theres a good link on power engineering`s site here is the link.
