Unhappy Vehicle tax

Just bought a impreza but still waiting for the log book the guy i bought it off hadnt got it back he hadnt had car long does anyone no if i will get any points if i use it i have rang the dvla it will 4 to 6 weeks before i get the log book back anyone have ideas..............................

No points for not having a log book as its not an offence,Although you will ofcourse need to have Tax,Mot,Insurance and a licience to drive said car.If its the tax your waiting for this maybe able to be down at your local dvla office.I think you can apply for a new log book and providing you have insurance,mot you can tax it. No points for not having tax anyway,But get caught and could be a hefty fine.

The DVLA charge £16 fr a new log book, (funilly enough I was in a presentation with the DVLA at work today!!)

I'm suprised you bought a car without seeing the log book though?

Buying a car when the Logbook is at the DVLA - very dangerous game that!
