Servicing
Is anybody here exercising their right under EC law to having the servicing carried out at any VAT registered garage of their choice (provided they use Subaru parts and tools) ??
Just interested to know, and if you are what savings over your local Scoob dealer are you seeing for the services ?

yes
saved £150 over dealer price £90 compared to £240 for 2 year 20k, using subaru parts and silkolene oil, better service than my local subaru dealer as well, and you could see them working on your car, which was nice.
extreme scoobies in basildon highly recomended

Only asking because the warrantee from years 2 onwards stipulates that an 'approved garage' must carry out the services.
Also doesnt the block exemption rule only apply to cars sold after 2004?

Yes the real issue here is what happens if you ever needed to make a warranty claim would you have aggro trying to prove that the garage was actually 'approved' After all do Subaru have an approved list of garages apart from official subaru dealers?

The office of fair trading are the body in the UK to which you would refer any such case of difficulty, you are definitely in a grey area if your warranty refers to "approved" garages only in the third year.
