T25 Test Drive
Well we made the trip to Litchfield Imports this morning and after a tour of their/powerstations facilities we went for a spin in an early T25.
With 3 up, it was bloomin quick, I can only imagine what it would be like with just a driver in it. The brakes were fantastic and it was suprisingly quiet (taking into account its capabilities).
Assuming Iain can get a reasonable bid on our car, I think we might just order a new T25, with a std wrx spoiler on the back.
All I need to do is explain to my leasing company why it is a £35K Impreza. It's either that or one of his mustangs.

I wasn't brave enough to go for the white, which would have been first choice, so I bought the crystal grey and haven't regretted it. Don't forget the Defis, and if you go for a DAB radio Iain will fit you a nice pert beesting aerial just like mine.
Lots of good T25 registration numbers available too.

I asked Iain not to fit the badge as well, but then went and put the T25 plate on it! Still, I might as well ask him to put it on when the carbon fibre rear wing is fitted (soon I hope!). I think it will blend in quite well with the grey and not be as noticeable as the ones I've seen on darker cars.

I didnt see one of those wings today, personally im not too sure about them.
Can I ask where you got your car insured, what sort of premium you pay etc. Please PM if you dont want that sort of info on the forum.

I'm insured through Endsleigh and the premium worked out this year at £610 - the original £595 for my old STi IV plus £15 to change for the remaining 7 months after the car arrived
It's fair to say that I'm not in the first flush of youth though

That is a lovely picture Phil and, having seen it in the flesh, I can vouch for what a wonderful colour it is too !

The most shocking thing there was the Mini Cooper that I think Iain had taken in against the silver mustang. Someone had T'boned it when he lent it to them. I have never in my life seen the bottom of a car hanging out. The driver must have been lucky to get out.

Well it really does depend on a sensible price for it. So far I have been told it is worth between £15K and £17K which has horrified me. I know you loose money on new cars but £10 - £12K on a car of this value is just plain silly. I have been told by more than 1 source that the reason being given is that Subaru UK dealers are automatically giving a £5K discount on the Spec B. Personally I feel that is disgraceful if true.
The reason we are thinking of changing is quite simple, the car is beautifully put together and is a great motorway cruiser. However I feel that it is flawed and could be so much better.
1)I don't see how it could ever do 0-60 in 6.5 secs
2)I feel the suspension needs to be a little harder for cross country blasts
3)The grear change could be a little shorter
4)Most concerning too me, the brakes are not suitable for a car of it's
alleged performance capability. My own car suffers from dreadful brake
judder and is due to have work carried out to rectify the problem. As I
stated last Monday the mechanic commented that the car uses standard
Legacy brakes and is "yet another Legacy in need of remedial work on
the brakes"
Of course this is all personal opinion and others may have a different view, I just feel that they could have made this into one of the great sports saloons.

There is nothing wrong with the car, it just went back for some extra work ie, carbon front and rear spoiler, 18" wheels, PSi unit, airbox and a few tweaks.
