Well the bonnet scoops, rear wing, front spoiler & wheels are not original items so no scooby came off the production line looking like that and the brake callipers have just been painted.
Looks like a pre-97 import to me.

thanks mate!
you know of any sites where i can view all the impreza modles along with pictures? so many variations, would be handy if they have stats too.
i have a post up in 'general technical' as im after a WRX but im not sure of the diffrent breaks in the revisions, and which is the more desired revision, with out spending more than 12k to get it! cant afford an sti for insurance purposes, i assume that makes it group 20 insurance? i kno the WRX import is group 17 and so one of the cheaper modles to insure, if im not wrong that is. whats the diffrence with the import? god eventually ill kno what im talking about!
cheers for any help

the most desirable imprezas at the minute seem to be the 22b and out of the newer shapes the spec c, I stand to be corrected on that one.
iirc the jdm wrx models are all ig 17, uk are 16? the 22b and the p1 are special category, so ig 20 if you like? down to the insurer to guage the risk and values etc.
for 12k you should easily get a good type r, this is the coupe shape "3 door" good people to talk to on here regarding this model is people like scoobchrissy that just posted, as he had one before his current beast, shimy type r, the name gives it away really and mikee singh, all really good people with loads of helpfull information.
if you want a list of all the models and pictures, it might be worth getting a copy of gt4 as most of them seem to be on there.
all the best.

so all WRX are insurance group 17 then? even an STI Type R? excellent.
what does iirc and JDM stand for? probably obvious but im guessing JDM has something to do with japanese import? what is the 0-60 for a type R? ive noticed that the WRX goes by versions rather than revisions....which are the better versions for styling?
thanks for all the info, gr8 help!

JDM classics are group 17 regardless of its badge. I was clearly told by my insurance company that for insurance purposes all classic WRX's, STI's, etc were identical unless modified. The only difference being their monetary value. Power and spec differences are not taken into account.

Far as I know from my own insurance dealings with my car, jdm classic stis are group 20.
