Any thoughts on this ?

Well, first of all, check that the Euro car comes with adequate security, tracker, delivery, number plates, tax and so on - at least make sure you're comparing like with like. Some apparently very cheap Euro imports don't seem quite such good value when you compare true on-the-road prices. For '05, DCCD-A is an option in Europe (though standard in UK), so make sure you're comparing the DCCD vs non-DCCD versions of both cars.
The JDM car, after a remap for UK fuel (which should be included in the £27k price - mine was), should be producing something like 290-300bhp, about the same as a Euro car with PPP. PPP costs about £2k, or you can get a similar package cheaper elsewhere but void your warranty. Adding a similar pack (full exhaust, remap, maybe an STI panel filter) to the JDM car should give nearer 320bhp with much better throttle response thanks to the twin scroll turbo.
On top of that, the JDM car gives you HID lights, electric folding mirrors, some very classy red instruments, rear wash/wipe, quick steering rack and wider tyres - none of which you can get on the Euro car.
I suspect you'll find most of that £5500 is eaten up by the added costs of security, delivery, DCCD-A and PPP, all of which would be needed to bring the Euro car up to a similar spec as the JDM car you should be able to get for £27k. But at the end of the day, you pays your money...
