Default Servicing an imported vehicle

Anyone care to comment on Subaru UK official line on servicing an imported Subaru?

I am picking up a MY 04 WRX STi Wagon on Saturday a factory ordered car by its 1 and only UK owner who has had it serviced by a Subaru main dealer from new.

I called my local dealer who flat refused to service or supply parts, note to self, dont buy anything from him in future. Happy to tell who the dealer is, whats the form on that sort of thing on this site?

Using the dealer who has serviced the car to date means a round trip of 80 miles, not ideal but if it means keeping an official Subaru service history I'll do it.

Anyone else suffered same or know the 'official line'?

Main dealers won't touch Japanese imports or cars from outside the EU. Simple as that. There are plenty of good independent specialists - I'd use one of them.

There is no STi JDM wagon any more, none in the MY03 lineup and none forcast, even in the MY06 lineup.

Oops typo error alert it's a 01 MY not 04 sorry.

Subaru4you are in Newbury, Berks, that's rather handier than trekking to Cotswolds.
Thanks for the tips, Len has already been rung this very morning, service already booked in for 2 weeks time.

cotswolds subaru will service it you just have to give them the chassis no. before you book it so they can order the correct parts through i.m and have them there ready for when you turn up
