Visual STI8 - WRX differences...
I'm turning my car into an STI lookalike and need a list of things I need to change. So far on the list I have:
STI spoiler
STI seats/carpet/door cards
STI clockset
STI scoop/fog covers/side bumper extensions
Is this everything except wheels and gearbox?
Doing it as I drool over STis and would lose WAY too much money to chop mine in (looking at £7k +++)
Cheers

Gonna go for the debadged look!!
Don't think it's as much to do with it being an STI - just more to do with the fact that they look so much better - even the blue clocks make more sense!!

Don't forget to change the insurance. Except that's one area where a real STi will be much cheaper
How much is this all gonna cost ? I'm guessing that your WRX is an 03, so if you're getting the parts from new the total spend must be getting comparable to actually changing up If you could get £13k on a private sale, there are 03 STi's out there for £16-17k now. When you consider the wing alone is over £800, the difference will soon be made up.
Your choice though.

Getting the wing and interior for WELL UNDER £700 together (legit)... Don't trust second hand cars due to getting my fingers burned and don't like the dash on the new STIs (fiddly heater controls).
Regards insurance - declaring aftermarket rear wing and STI fog light covers (as I have declared my current mods)
It's not going to be badged as an STI from the back, and I'm willing to risk the blue interior...there's a limited edition WRX coming out which is basically an STI with WRX engine...
Oh and a dealer offfered me £10k for my Euro 53 plate 6k miles WRX...Last time I looked STis were well over 20k...

I traded 02 WRX to 02 STI for £6500 a month ago, via a main dealer. I could probably have got them down another £500, but I was tired out after beating them down the first £1000. But the reasons for driving an STI in my case have little to do with cosmetics - the only bits I cared about for looks were the bigger scoop and the big spoiler.

How bout an STi engine why you open her up? Nah just playing.
But get the scoopy and the intercooler changed to say STi. Its the biggest give a way.
I had a race today against a impreza. Looked liked a perfect STi apart from the scoop and it was distant in my rear view mirror

Yeah not bothered if people think its a WRX as I think I'm just gonna change to the best bits. Planning on a full decat, STI intercooler and remap later which should put me into STI territory (the WRX is a bit lighter too )

Are you going to cover up your front fogs then? Aint is strange WRX's get front fogs and the STI doesnt!

To be honest, up to (very) recently I thought there were fogs behind the covers Thought it was something to do with protecting them from stones and stuff...
Nah my sideskirts are grey at the moment - MY03 'thing'

Shaun, cant see any problems, if your clocks broke you would still have to replace them The Sti ones are digital also. Not sure on the mileage but I believe the car was low mileage when crashed.

If you want an STI bonnet and scoop in Silver, mine is coming off next week as it is getting replaced by a carbon fibre one. Shouldn't cost you to much money to get it resprayed blue.
Let me know if you want it!!
