Attempted theft????????
This morning i found the bonnet of my scooby popped open.... This is the second time in 6 months i have found the car like this.. I know 100% the bonnet wasn't like that last night...
Do you all think some1 has tried to nick the car or is there any possibility that the catch has slipped and popped the bonnet itself???????????
Really worried.... Thinking of not leaving the car at our house now..

lol that was tas this is kim!
we obviously dont have that sensor as it would have gone off. if we do have it then its not working.
we have some dodgy kid that lives next door and his mates are even worse than he is.
think we are just gonna use my parents' garage from now on.
should not have to do that tho!

Dead easy to fit one if you aint already got one.
Also worth checking if you have got a bonnet pin ( very common on most systems) that the contact hasn't rusted or the pin can still move otherwise it doesn't make the contact and trigger the alarm !!
Simple and cheap fix either way.
Mark.

Not sure about anyone messing under the bonnet, I didn't think you could open the bonnet from the outside ???
Also anothe one to check on your bonet switch mate, is the length of the shat on the pin, if it is too long then when the bonnet is first poped and still on the catch it may be holding the pin down still and preventing it making a connection, I have had this happen in the past, if so just trim it down so the connection is made as soon as the bonnet is poped.
Might also be worth while you on replacing the pin as they don't cost very much at all.

If the bonnet opened without having to pull the lever (the latch mechanisms, front of car) Then its a likely that someone has had a go.
Thats how it works on mine, pulling the bonnet release lever from the inside of the car just makes the bonnet pop up. Then you will have to pull the lever from the latch to actually release the bonnet.
Double check the cable end & rubber grommets that fit into the latch, could have popped out etc.

How about having two switches on the bonnet? - one "easily accessible" that the tea leaf could think he (or she ) is disabling which just happens to be not wired in but looks like it is and then another one "hidden" somewhere that's a bit harder to get to...
Bonnets will be made to open from inside the car otherwise there'd be quite a few engines etc missing... The latch is there for safety as a a method of stopping the bonnet flying up whilst moving if the release is pulled.
