If you want to look at nice dials, then yes.
If like me you just want to drive the thing, then a waste of money

In a word...Yes, quality bit of kit.

Looked at others but decided on BF's, have never been disapointed with them.

definately worth it,surprising how long it takes for the oil etc to heat up properly,in addition they can act as a warning, buzzing when at peak or when oil pressure drops!! worth every penny

in a word, no

if you want the latest bling thing then probably Defi's are the way to go.
if you just want to know whats going on with your car then there are far cheaper gauges out there.

I had them in my old car, and if I could afford it I would do the same for my Forester!

If you ask me "Is a TD05 better than a TD04?" then I would say that they are both turbos but the TD05 will produce more power but cost more to buy. The Defis cost more money than cheaper guages but still tell you the same information as the cheaper guages. You are buying bling!

I'm surprised you got such sensible answers

It's a very difficult one to answer. They are pretty accurate and look nice. However, they do provide the essential information (as long as you choose the correct ones).

I would say they are almost worth the money. There are some good alternatives, but maybe not as easy to install. The BF dials are my favourites

IMHO I wouldn't give more than a tenner for the Mona Lisa, and that would be because I wanted the frame. It really a matter of what you want.

what does a set of defi's and a pod cost?
maybe £500 all in?

I reckon that for £200 you could get the same set up but with a diffrent brand of gauges that would do the same job.
thats makes it non cost effective

That's no excuse. They can act as an early warning sign before things go seriously wrong. (And they look good lol)

750 - 800 fitted!! but then again its what u want! usuall you can get most things cheaper that do the same job, cars included, but i suppose its down to personal prefference at the end of the day.

They are easy enough to fit yourself if you have half a clue about car electrics. That and a touch of Scoobynet help was enough for me to fit mine

Daren, in all honesty how can they be worth the money?

when a similar product will do eactly the same job for less than 1/4 the price.
they may look the nuts, I think everyone agrees on that, but talking strict functionality here....

i have the white faced defi's in my classic and yes you can get similar gauges for less money but they do not have the record function, handy if your driving flat out and want to see what sort of boost pressure etc you are getting through the gears, they dont have the peak levels or warning buzzers etc which are handy for peace of mind and the white faced ones are an almost exact match for the dials in a late classic.
all in all top piece of kit, i cant fault them!

Ive gotten Omori gauges.
Almost as much dosh as the Defi's but i thought they looked more like the original
Speedo/Revcounter and temp fuel gauges so i went with them.

Any gauge that measures -+5% is good enought for our use i think , its just the cosmetics that make it more expensive.

A mate of mine has some elcheapo gauges, and they are buttugly, but they do the measurements they are supposed to.
I paid double the amount of money for the same info, but as HE himself says that mine look better.
The amount he saved on gauges he got himself a backbox and he's happy with that.
