Default How much did you pay for your last oil filter?

I had a suprise this weekend. Needing to stock up on oil filters. I have previously purchased from dealer in Surrey.

Genuine Subaru Oil Filter from Main Dealer in Surrey around £11.00 each.

but now see Halfords sell them
Halfords "Own" Oil Filter around £6.50 ecah

but as I was in Wincanton (Somerset) I though I would drop in an get one from local dealer.
Genuine Subaru Oil Filter from Main Dealer in Somerset exactly £4.44 each

I wonder if this differnce spills over into service costs?

Anybody else have similar experiences?

Around £4.50 to £5.00 for genuine Subaru ones from a Subaru dealer! They used to be around £11 but Subaru dropped the prices last year!

I used to buy ones from other sources but now the genuine ones are around the cheapest on the market - and from Subaru dealers!!!!

Yes u are right. Last year they were about £11.

I bought one the day (official subaru 1) and it was only £4.44 +VAT
Bargain! Not worth buying a replica 1 at that price.

Shame my Mobil 15/50 oil hasn't come down in accordance with the oil filter lol

I've always paid around £6 for filter + sump plug washer from main dealer in Preston. Last time I checked, that was cheaper than the local Halfords so no reason not to go for the genuine OEM stuff.

I swapped a snake belt, two conkers and a photo of an armadillo for my last filter
Good deal I think

Offical subaru retail price is £4.50 + vat anyone getting charged more are being ripped off by the dealer, had this arguement with my dealer who tried to charge £6.50 + vat, pointed out that its £4.50 they then charged me £4.50 they said they would look into it and guess what found out they are still chargeing £6.50 robbing [unt$ see here, http://www.subaru.co.uk/imggb/www/subaru_news_events.nsf/WebInternetNewsByDDate/CF3A0337D24BF2D880256E920044C470/$FILE/parts%20prices%20slashed.pdf
