Maybe, if I had had the Scoob for a long time and no-one was buying used cars...
Got the Scoob, co its a Scoob and I like Scoobs. It holds its own with an 'equivalent' Evo.

I have recently considered a TME and a very good mate of mine has an FQ300... and i def wouldnt have one of those...
Scooby all the way for me.
I'll prob stick with my Type R until Subaru pull's their heads out of their a***s and bring out another 2 door

I have just done so WRX PPP, PFF7's, Prodrive quick shift, Prodrive spring kit, with full whiteline suspension kit, STI front bumper, side skirts, Godspeed big brake kit front & rear, various other bits & Bobs for a New EVO MR 300 with full RalliArt turbo back exhaust & decat, with new brakes and Tek 3 re map to follow. Had to give some cash when swopping with the dealer LOL. Both fantastic cars but very much chalk and cheese but all great fun.

I think I might well, I would certainly have to think long and hard about it
the problem I see is the other evo owners, most are top sorts who like a bit of a laugh, the odd one or two are complete numpties and the MLR makes this place look positively friendly

Most definitely yes.
Practically all UK Impreza's would have their **** kicked by the Evo equivalent.
UK Classics v Lancer IV, V, VI wouldn't stand a chance
P1 vs TME close call
UK Bugeye v Lancer VII wouldn't stand a chance
UK Blobeye v Lancer VIII wouldn't stand a chance
UK STi v Lancer VII or VIII FQ3xx wouldn't stand a chance
WR1 v FQ340 wouldn't stand a chance, (didn't it beat by a 320 on top gear?)
Scoobys are nice, Lancers are hardcore.

the comparisons are false.
IV, V and VI are import only I believe, so compare them to STI of a similar MY.
how can you hope to compare a car with 220bhp with a car having 280bhp?
not all UK cars still have 220bhp either

V1 were the first to be offered by Mitsubishi UK
What I liked about the new EVO MR is that you got HID headlamps as standard, rear wash wipe, and Ti twin scroll turbo as standard on a UK supplied car. If Subaru UK bought in the real deal as standard I think it would have been a much closer call for me in my decision to change. I have noticed on MLR that there are a lot of ex Scooby owners who have made the change in the last six months.

The first official UK Lancer Evolution was the VI so a comparison between this and a 215bhp MY00 is perfectly acceptable
Just face it, the Impreza is a watered down version of the Lancer for the people who like a softer ride.
Whereas the Lancer is a no holds barred absolute lunatic car with neck snapping acceleartion and unbreakable grip.
People may not want this in a daily drive and opt for the Impreza, nothing wrong with that. Just don't kid yourself that you have the fastest Rally Slag on the road cos you most defintely don't.
