Cheers.

http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html

Thanks Simon but Im ok with that part, the bit that is throwing me is the engine type and the transmissoion code as per the above website. The engine type seems to be different as per the site and if you go into the diff/ratio page, it doesnt show as Ra.

It may be that the catherineandken site is incomplete; your engine code doesnt appear to be listed but it looks like an STI engine code to me (4PJ and 6PJ are the codes for the V1 and the V3 STIs.....). Perhaps theyve made a typo as Id expect the engine code to be 'PJ' and not 'PR/HJ' as listed; the transmission code also matches.

Cheers Simon, I can see what you are saying now as I never checked the sti ra model above and below it and it appears that you are correct as above and below it is 4pj and 6pj.
When you look at gear ratios, if the gear ratio is lower, does this mean its shorter, ie does gearing 3.083 produce more acceletration than 3.454 in first gear etc.

The listed engine code seems to be an amalgamation of the STI 2 and the STI 2 V-Ltd doesnt it?

From memory the codes were xxxxxx5PR and xxxxxx5HJ; 'catherineandken' is an enthusiast's site and a lot of the information has been taken from translated Japanese sites; a mistake might easily have been made at some point. If Id just landed this car Id be quite happy that it was a genuine STI2 Type-RA.
