Default mot failure

Hi just took my girlfriends Ka for mot and its failed due to the sunstrip, saying wipers touched it and the view restricted, also told they were illegal is this true help would be appreciated. I have one on my scooby don't want to remove that at mot time.

the "drivers view" of the road must not be obstructed by anything larger than 10mm within the confines of the wiper blades swept area.
Outside of that but still within the drivers view no obstruction can be larger than 40mm.

"Drivers view" is classed as 290mm wide view centered obout the steering wheel.

straight from MOT manual..

P.s SUNSTRIPS are GAY.
although that's not in the manual

The daft thing is:

This country doesn't have enough sun to warrant a strip*

(* this sentance can be applied to many circumstances )
