Question Tyre wear advice please

My 03 WRX has done 12000 miles and both front tyres are worn only on the outer edges, the rest being pretty well preserved, but the nearside one is much balder than the offside. Is this normal since we all go clockwise around roundabouts or do I need to get the tracking checked? If so will the local National Tyre/ ATS/ KwikFit be OK or do I need the dealer to check it?
Thanks guys.

Seem to recall from other posts on here that it is usaully down to the geometry set-up for certain tyre wear. Apparrently certain specialist car places can sort this out. Or even the Subaru dealer.

Thumbs up

Wear on the outside edge of the nearside front is normal on standard geometry. To minimise the effect on one tyre you should rotate your wheels front to rear. The handbook recommends doing this every 6k miles.

Get your geometry done by a good 4wd alignment specialist and the car will handle a lot better too (less understeer).

Thanks. Will get it checked soon. Is a specialist better than dealer? Anyone know one in West Sussex area?

I'll second that! I got my geometry done at Elite, together with uprated anti-roll bars, bushes, and and anti-lift kit. Totally transforms the car!
