Angry 30k Service Cost!

I've decided not to sell my STI7 for a couple of reasons, the main one being serious lack of interest and serious depreciation! Anyway, got to put it through its 30k service. Subaru Mansfield and Derby are quoting £400 - £450 respectively(should be the same shouldn't they?) Thats a lot more than I thought it would be to be honest! Does anyone know of any one localish to Notts with better prices than that?! Waiting for TSL to get back to me.

Cheers

Simon

Cheers corradoboy. TSL are £460 all in. The only difference in their service and subaru is a high flow panel filter I think and maybe some different choices in certain fluids/parts, not sure though.

The later models must be cheaper then, just had my 30K for £249, MY03 WRX.

40K will be £275 and 50K is £400.

I wish mine was more like that price! Would it be anything to do with it being an STI though?

30K is a biggie on the new age isn't it? I remember because when I bought mine it had just been done - list price was around the £450 mark.

That doesn't sound like a big service to me? I would like to think that they do all that sort of stuff with the exeption of the plugs everytime .......... I think its a bloody rip off what they do and dont do these days.

My missis 19K service on her A3 was £260 and when I asked the labour rate it was £80 per hour. The guy went through what they had done, all very professional like ...... I told him that next time I take it in I dont want the car wash and hoover being done. bollards if im paying someone £40 to wash my car .... They made a big play of saying they had cleaned it etc ....... yeah I expect they did at £80 an hour .... dick turpin has nothing on them .......

rant over

Mine's currently in Tiley's of Bristol having its 30k service and underbody service at the same time - not sure of the price, hope it's not too bad.
Mind you, the prices that main dealers charge for servicing you would think that they could afford to put some tyres on their loan vehicles (53 plate WRX and the fronts are completely illegal)

Do you work for Chandlers? I'm in bottesford regularly so might book it in with them. If you do work for them I bet you know Kevin Money don't you?

He's actually my cousin! He's always had good words to say about Chandlers so no probs there, you must rub your hands when he walks in.... I'd use you more but I moved to Notts 4 years ago. However, for that price and a wash and hoover etc I'll take a trip. I may have even spoken to you a few weeks ago as I was trying to sell my STI7?

Are you busy? Can you get me in next week? Let me know as it'll save me cleaning it this weekend!! I'll need a courtesy car too though...got any WR1's?! PM if you like to arrange.

Great price, but a 660 mile round trip would sort of defeat the object

Cheers though advice is of use to someone I'm sure

well realistically if i can get that sort of discount you should get a service for under £300 if you use their oil at at least some local garages near to you.it seems grossly unfair that dealers vary between £223 and £450,mind you i blatantly ask for sidc/scoobynet discount and as much as i can get away with eg free fitting of rear strutbraces/front splitters etc
