Another Newbie question
Popped into my local dealers at the weekend looking at there stock of used new age motors. When I asked the salesman "whats the difference between a WRX and STi" he just gave me the most useless discription ever. Basically some more power and different suspension and exhaust.
Can anyone give me the basics please cos I thought I had it sussed but now I'm not sure.
Cheers.

i personally dont know the specs but if you go to www.subaru-global.com click on model lineup, click on impreza and then WRX STi, you should get a piccy of the STi up, and then you can look at technical specs by clicking on that option on the left hand side. There are some comparisons between models, may be of use...
hope it's a help

The WRX is basically a fast standard saloon: the ride is comfortable, but it goes pretty fast. The STI is more hardcore: much stiffer suspension ( so fairly harsh ride), bigger turbo-lag (but much better acceleration when the turbo finally wakes up), an extra gear and more power. The STI demands more skill, but rewards it with more fun. And it drinks fuel like it was going out of fashion. Mind you, the WRX isn't exactly frugal.
The WRX is a more everyday car, the STI the sports car. I've not had the STI long enough to say which I prefer - but it probably is the STI.

And the ride and drive in my 05 WRX is nothing like any other family saloon (fast or otherwise) I've ever driven!
Check this out - http://cars.msn.co.uk/researchcentre/roadtests/rt018/ last paragraph of the report echos my sentiments.
