a mate is thinking of selling his e30 m3 and his girlfriends metro and replace with 2 other cars. looking to spend about £15k. he wants a "sports" car and a hot hatch for the missus.

what would you buy and why?

i said lotus elise and something like a zetec-s / focus st170 because i'd like to own a lotus before i die and the zetec-s is cheap and fun to drive.

There is no way you would get a focus and a lotus for 15k!!

Best wat forward I say would be a second hand Toyata Supra some ok models for under 10k and then 5k on either a golf Mk3 VR6 (3.2l) or a pug 206, as they look awesome when done up.

Saying that if she fancied could probably get a decent fiesta rs or escort turb, but reckon the power of the VR6 golf, plus the amount of mods you could do to it would be the better option.

Of course saying Supra, you could pick up an old style impreza or evo for the same amount of money!

vr6 is a good shout. he's not a lover of the rs fiesta or escort. he took the pee out of my escort rs all the time i had it.

would buy a scooby and a 106gti mate,had a 106 from new did 50k in it only problem i had with it were a faulty abs sensor had to take bk to peugeot cost me a 100 quid including part (had to reset abs module)not bad goin in 4yrs also really good on petrol even when booting it very under rated cars in my opinion and faster than u think for a 1.6 16v also very cheap now.u`d get a 02 wrx with whats left or a sti type-r (my choice)depends if he dont mind a bit of hassle u know what scoobys are like u need a little errr patience and money sometimes lol.

i did mention the 106gti to him but he's had a 106 before. the quicksilver model. very nice cars imo. anyone got any views on mx5?
