Short Shifter For STI 6 Speed

Can anyone who has fitted the short throw gear lever to their STi7 or above give me some feedback as i'm interested in buying one.

i.e. was it worth it, what improvement over current shift, how much etc

might be wrong but I think that means yours is a v8.

MY01 & MY02 are version 7

MY03 & MY04 are version 8

tho 03 sti has the short shift 6 speed as standard.

thought it must have - wouldnt want it any shorter - very, err mechanical..

The only one I can see on the Subaru site is for the five-speed. As for the STi shift being a "short" shift - I'd hate to see a long one. It's certainly noticably looser and longer than the Prodrive short-shift as fitted to the 02 WRX.

got a 5 speed for my wrx and to be honest dont really notice anymore. dont think its that much better than standard but havent used one for do long i have nothing to compare it to. The missus has an Z3 and it is probably a shorter shift as id my mates celica.
