if you take the policy terms literally then you are covered, as long as you are not timing or competing in any way whatsoever. Basically you are just driving your car on a private road.
several insurers have made specific exclusions for trackdays, so you really do need to check the policy documentation that you have been sent very carefully.
whilst what I said in my first paragraph may stand up it court, I wouldn't want the cost of trying it myself.

just read the privilege policy wording on their website - refers to Track Day in the main definitions but can't see any other reference to it in the policy wording - bit odd ..

When I was insured with Privilege the policy allowed trackdays so long as you informed them.
They increased my excess to £1000 for 24 hours.
However certain insurance companies CLEARLY STATE you are NOT INSURED if you drive on a circuit of any kind for any reason, ie carnival fete round Brands Hatch.
They will not pay up in the event of a claim.
I know from very expensive personal experience.
I was not racing/speed testing etc etc but WAS on a circuit. End of story.
Several lengthy letters later, from both sides and I had to foot the large bill.
Suggest you phone them to check, the ruling may not be as it was when I was insured with them.
Don't gamble, unless you can afford to write your car off with NO financial recompense.
Cheers

Let me know if you do find anything - I'm likely to want cover on the 'ring next year, but getting cover on a modified Japanese import was bad enough without wanting to add track days too
