alright lads and ladesses ,a quick question , the type r version 5 limited the one with the roof vent , what exactly does the limited stand for ,limited edition or does it mean limited to 112 mph , not exactly sure ,and how can you tell the car your buying is not gona cut at 112 mph is it possible or do you have to find out when youve bought it , any info ,,,thanx

limited = limited edition, mainly cosmetic stuff, bit like the uk specials

all jdm imports were restricted to 180kph (112mph), restriction was normally removed by converting the speedo to mph. Then they are restricted to 180mph

I have one and yes it is mainly cosmetic - sonic blue mica paint and a roof vent, on the ver 6 v -ltd they installed a plaque. The japanese dealers offer extras unheard of on in the UK as options i.e. dial pack, uprated LSD, roll cage!! ( I have these )

Gravelexpress is spot on.

The non ltd type R's were not available in sonic blue or with the roof vent, and on V6 Ltd's they had a plaque on the centre console and blue seats.

V5 Type R Ltd is the one to have.

restricted to 180mph. why?

because you change the way the ecu read the speed signal. It will limit when it reaches 180 somethings. If you put the converter box before the ecu off the gearbox signal then the ecu reads in mph not kph.

Plus my ra would need to pull 9000rpm in 5th to get to 180mph. Probably need close to 500bhp as well.

Did'nt the Type R VLimited have ABS and the Type R did'nt?

classic wise if the car had dccd then it didnt have abs as they were incompatiable
