My worst fears were confimred yesterday.

The engine in my WRX has gone for a Burton

The Abingdon Trackday took its toll (jesus that was an expensive day), I am well informed that it could be a head gasket (not quite so expensive £1000ish) or a cracked Piston (bo77ox expensive).

Anyway thanks to Pete C at SS for all his help, I'm off to buy a temporary car, Rover 620 here I come...............doh...............doh.........d oh......doh....doh...doh..doh.doh!

Oh and I'm off to join the FSEC, work it out the funiest answer wins my knackered head gasket or piston mounted on a tasteful piece of plastic to use as a paper weight

Greg H, I'll be speaking to you about those lovely parts and how best to lie to the missus.

Ian S, I'll have to ride shotgun in the Clag-N-Ball-Run

FJI..............Doh!

Yep I was out for two sessions, my car has done 21000 miles and its only 2 years old.

Just spoke to the guy who is rebuilding Anders car, going to see him on Tuesday he doesn't think its going to be too bad.

Scott,
Interested in a pair of used STi V pistons? You can see them at Lavender Hill - make sure you don't get them mixed up with the new 'uns!!

If you need lessons in lying to the wife, mail me. I do it 7 days a week to keep mine running!!

Hurrah!!!!!!!!

That’s another piece of junk, sorry, quality memento to add to my collection of holed pistons, bent valves, blown turbos, melted dump valves, melted pre-cats, snapped waste gate actuators, melted engine mounts, bald tyres, split turbo hose, bent throttle mechanisms, snapped suspension arms, worn out rose joints, knackered fuel pumps, crappy brake callipers, warped disks, fried brake pads, bent wheels, knackered timing chain, twisted camshaft, porous exhaust manifold and bent boost gauge needle.EDIT Forgot, there’s more, snapped cycle wing brackets (both sides), blown head gasket, melted throttle cable, sliced slick, race spec radiator, noisy exhaust system, fatigued turbo shield, 220BHP and 275BHP P8 EEPROMS, 2 bar MAP sensor, 2.5 bar Map sensor, 4 x blue injectors and finally (I think!!!) one Subaru impreza sport short engine (slapety slap). Yikes, no wonder I am skint

Time for a car boot sale me thinks LOL

PS. If there is any car manufacturer out there who needs to accelerate their destructive testing program, I’m the man for the job LOL

Scott,
Sorry to hear the news - You certainly did seem to be moving at Abingdon, but like Jake says, just two sessions of 15 minutes!

What sort of revs were you doing? Were you on the limit (7500 I think) much?

And what's the opinion on the reason - was it knocking, and would booster have helped?

For gods sake, do we have to be politically correct all the time these days??

Its just a bit of fun!!!

Its in reply to this at the top of the thread "Oh and I'm off to join the FSEC, work it out the funiest answer wins my knackered head gasket or piston mounted on a tasteful piece of plastic to use as a paper weight"

Dont you people understand what a means?? Obviously i don't really think that!!

John, the least sexist and racist bloke you are ever likely to know! I also have a sense of humour.

John,
Unfortunately most of the people on this board don't know each other well enough to know whether some comments are really not meant - and there are bound some racist people using this board who assume such comments are welcome.

Sorry, I'm not wanting to lecture anyone, I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, but since it has caused offence, I guess it's best not to say these things (as for funniest answer, I'm sure you could do better, unless Bernard Mannings' your hero).
