Default lap times round Nurburgring (sp?)

saw the course on Top Gear the other night (with Clarkson taking 10 mins in a diesel Jag).

Sh:t !! the STI pulled an amazing time.
I wonder if it was standard, should imagine so though as it would knock the times out all over the place.
Best of all tho it beat the EVO's
Would love to see what time a modded sti,22b type r/ra pulls.Have to wait until this summer to find out !!

That list is also full laps not just BTG like clarkson and the rest of us do. So you can take off around 28 seconds for the BTG times

The exige must be quicker than it says on there. Some of the boys over there in September were talking about 8min 15 laps........ add 28 secs to that and you get 8.43.........Whoever the test driver man was only quotes 8 mins 8.42 .... not convinced.

The MY05 spec C did just under 8 minutes last year, i met the driver the day before he set the time.

The Exige will go much quicker than 8:45, something seriously wrong if it didnt.

Those times are from a Norwegian website, some are pro drivers, some are tourists like the majority of us.

You can input your own times, hence some times appear more than once.

Must be close to the limit the whole way round. I assume they run standard brakes and pads when they do that kind of timing? I guess with a clear lap and no mechanical sympathy its feasable ...... Not for me though you understand

I was driven round there by the circuit manager when we were reccing for a driving day we were running, and the guy took us around in the circuits V8 Beemer X5 - this just showed that someone who knew the circuit intimately could do a bloody good time. I reckon we were about the 10min mark, just under (and of course we were 3 up in that car) and I was blown away - as much by the fantastic undualtions in the circuit as by his ability at the wheel - just shows how experience dictates this stuff. An amazing circuit...

the top ones for sure are full laps, thats a bit out of date now, the current production lap record is in the low 7 minutes.

Under 6 minutes for me.

That was using the TVR in PGR2.

But seriously. Didn't the Radical hold the record time? Their website seems to think so, but there's no solid tiems that I can see.

I think it's because

A) there were arguments about the car being road legal (ie, at the time it wasn't)

and

B) the time has been beaten by a Donkervort.

Although I doubt very much it'll stay that way - the SR8 will probably get close to 7.10 when they go this year.

The arguement is whether its tuv approved and therefore road legal in Germany. The radical is not.

The donkey is TUV approved BUT it was wearing a huge non standard wing on its lap.

No im pretty sure the radical is not TUV approved and therefore untill the donkey came along the carrera GT held the record .......

Like anything though all these figures etc are manipulated to say whatever people want them too.

Im by no means an expert but thats what i believe to be the case

In answer to the thread starters original question

Pug 205 GTi (139bhp) 8 mins 55 secs BTG
Scoob sti (329bhp) 8 mins 33 BTG

These are my best timed laps to date.

Timing isnt recommended though, which is why you havent been inundated with replies I should imagine.

...well I think he has not been unindated with replies as this is a Subaru forum.

Had it been 1/4 mile times, or number of similtanious donuts it would be 8 pages by now.
