I think you will find that is a full lap rather than bridge to gantry. The full lap is about an extra 25-30 secs depending on the car. It may also include the GP circuit. Not sure where you are getting the figures from so i dont know.

Ahh, that'll be Gary's inexperience raising it's ugly head If the Ruf did 8,15 Nordschleife full lap "including" the GP track then it would be piloted by the "Iceman" and he would have Tom Cruise as his wingman

I think I have as much or more fun in the pug than the scoob. Plus its 100 times cheaper.

The 200SX is about 8:30, which considering its a pretty basic spec of car thats not too bad really, it's a huge amount of fun in the medium speed corners where you can get the car very sideways. Last trip was the most fun in that using my cheapo road tyres at 40psi, the corner speeds were lower but the grin factor was higher.
I hadnt discovered the 'ring when i had my cossie, which is a shame, it would have been pretty fast. Last trip there Neil who bought it from me turned up in it, i tried to twist his arm but he wouldnt let me take it on track, aparantly i blew that chance when i gave him a run with me in the 200SX on a quick lap.
They are all fun, just very diferent, the westie was stupid fast in the medium speed sections and acceleration wise so that was hilareous when playing with the fast bikes, the 200SX is the most fun when you just want to play about sideways, the Impreza was most fun when you wanted a clinically quick and smooth run, it handled the track with so little drama and surprised a lot of the porsche's at the way it carried speed through the fast corners, it was brilliant in the wet.
I think thats the atraction of the ring, it isnt so much about the car, you can enjoy aspects of it in anything, its more about the driving experience as a whole thats fascinating about the circuit, its the only circuit i have driven that really rewards knowledge and allows you carry some very high speeds, you are 30-40MPH higher up than at a UK track, there are no anoying chicanes to kill the rythm or pace.

Picture the scene.... Powerful rwd car on a wet track, on a v.cold morning with no idea where the track went, and with candles for headlights! What do you mean Adenauer Forst is a 90 left? LOL
Matt
It was those early experiences that helped put the idea of doing a DVD for new drivers at the 'ring in my mind, when we first went we hadnt a clue what to expect, it was very much a case of work it out as you went along. Those early trips were great fun full of great memories. I think you were in the westie when half way round it started snowing too? that was a bit hairy.

Completely agree with the difficulty of learning the track in a low down car John, I've heard it from countless Westfield drivers.

Thats an interesting read John, thanks for that.........I will make sure I tap you up for a lap this year.
I agree with your points about it being intersting no matter what you drive. Cars are all totally different over there. The pug is pretty well flate out in alot of sections whereas in the scoob its more on and off, lift and brake.
We all have a few defining moments from the place......Mine has to be a lap in the pug with a 996 turbo. I was close early on then he lost me till Hohe acht where I was all over him again. He wouldnt let me past till Flantzgarten where I managed to pass (Emma just happened to be videoing there too ).....A little later in the day I was just getting into the car when a swiss guy tapped me on the shoulder and asked how many bhp my car had.....anyway it turned out he was the turbo owner and had really enjoyed the lap with me and asked for a Pax lap.
Could you ever imagine that sort of thing happening anywhere other than at the ring? because I sure as hell cant. If I got too near a porsche in the UK he would have me strung up let rather than come for a chat and exitedly ask for a pax lap..... I will never forget that.
Funny thing was I posted the video Emma took on here and got slated for it lol .........

Anytime Mr Pug.
Dont think i saw your posted video?
Most people at the ring are really friendly, the GT3 drivers arnt up themselves at all normally, just enthusiasts like the rest of us. The driver of the red 911 i pass in the DVD did the same thing, came and had a friendly chat, he was amazed it was a stock engine in my RA.
