Help?? I want another Impreza
As the title suggests, I used to own a MY00 from new for 6 months then had to sell due to a company car.
I now have the urge to get back into a 4wd car and I can't think of anything better.
I'm would love an STI, so if anyone could give me any tips on purchasing a brand new or relitively new one that would be great?
I have tried to use the search before you ask but I think I'm being a tad dim because the search was not working properly.
Any help would be appreciated.
Oh and I have a car to sell maybe px against it.

new 05 STi
I am selling my 05 Sti. It is a USA import 2.5 300 horse black beauty. left hand drive though, but only 2000 miles. Its a brand new car with more power than most know what to do with. I will make you a very good deal if your a serious buyer.

First it sounds as if you've made your mind up about Sti vs WRX which is good
If you're going to go for a new one probably the next thing you'll want to decide is Import or UK. Plenty of threads about this and pros and cons to each so I won't try and influence you - basically comes down to initial price vs residual value / Insurance / tracker / trade in later on etc..
Next you'll want to decide if you want PPP. Again plenty of threads on this with pros and cons (mostly pro's) On the Sti in particular PPP adds a lot to the overall usability and driveability of the car as well as out and out performance.
Then the best bit about what extras you want - wheels, suspension etc etc as you'll no doubt be wanting to upgrade bits and pieces as you go - half the fun !
GL and enjoy !

if you want an import (Eu or Jap) then try
www.litimports.co.uk (Iain Litchfield Imports)
or
www.dhcars.co.uk (David Hendry Cars)
David stocks 2nd hand impreza's as well as importing new ones,
Iain also has 2nd hand ones.

Thanks everyone for all your help.
I should have said a bit more really in my 1st post, but I've had more time now to think about it and do some research/searches.
I am definately looking for a UK spec STI MY04 onwards. I'm not fussed if it's a euro import as long as it has a cat 1 alarm and tracker. Would love to have PPP and some PFF7's but hey you can't expect everything straight away. I do want it in black though.
Are dealers offering a decent amount off of the MY04 as the MY05 is around now?
Does anybody know of a dealer I can contact for a test drive and maybe a deal?
Thanks for you help

When I got the MY05 WRX just before xmas dealers where offering a good couple of grand off the last of the MY04's. If you're lucky you might find a few left out there.
Apparantly though there were quite a few suspension changes on the Sti from 04 to 05 as well as the cosmetic ones so worth understanding that before you commit..
Where abouts are you ? then people can recommend dealers although if you are considering an import then Litchfields as above are a good bet..
