Noise Paranoia
#1
With so many Scoobies going around clicking, ticking, banging and slapping, how about some of the engine experts putting together something on the FAQ. I think it would need to identify the known problem, year or engine code (WRX,STi or UK also) and remedy. How about some WAV downloads of the common problems to help alleviate the panic.

Yeah with you on this one.
Except that it would be v.hard to record specific sounds when they are interlaced with all other oddities that the boxer engine kicks out.
Have you got a fast clicking sound when revving just above idle? ie.1000rpm? which dissapears when revved higher? (or should I say drowned out...)

Greg,
That fast ticking sound is probably part of the fuel system. Open the bonnet and infront of the drivers' side suspension turret is a small black unit with a see through filter ( I think) This is probably your ticking noise!! Either that, or you car is about to fall apart( only kidding)
