CURRENT PROJECTS

We are currently working on 2 shop project cars and will be adding another car to the project collection in the next week or so. We have 1 drag car, and one street car. Currently we are completing our 500+ wheel horsepower Subaru Impreza WRX. It has closed deck motor with a TO4R Garrett turbo charger, commonly found on Single Turbo Toyota Supra's. This car will be debuting in October of 2004. Our expected times are high 9's in the 1/4 mile. Everything has been built up from the ground up. It has been fitted with a Crawford Performance Bottom End, DPR Head Work, and Section 8 Motorwerks full custom Turbo Kit. The project Subaru Impreza WRX is a very stock looking car however it has been fitted with a 2004 STI front end. The transmission has been converted to automatic. It is completely built and features an electronic push button shifter to select the gears. The torque converter has a 4500 rpm stall for full boost launches.

The drag Subaru features a very efficient air/liquid intercooler. With the proper components you can see several times better cooling then an air-to-air intercooler. We have custom built the intercooler core and front heat exchanger. Up front is a 3-gallon water and icebox. A Meziere 1200 gallon per hour pump pulls liquid from the reservoir through the heat exchanger into the intercooler. Intake temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit can be seen with these types of combinations. Our project subaru just dynoed at 536 hp and 470 tq without nitrous oxide. We will be taking it to the track shortly and will post some results.

We are now undergoing some massive changes to the car. Our previous goal was to run in the 9 second quarter miles but we have now removed all the parts including the engine off of the car. We are going for more power and a complete new design in the engine and turbo system. Nothing will be the same on the engine as the other engine. This complete engine is being designed and build by Crawford Performance. Tuning will also be done by Quirt Crawford of Crawford Performance. We at Section 8 Motorwerks have designed this new turbo system that will insure larger power. The specs of this motor are Top Secret but you can see the car in its finished form at California Speedway on December 18th, and 19th 2004.

As you can see the car is now fitted with a 10 point roll cage and a drag 200 MPH parachute. The roll cage is certified up to 7.50 seconds in the quarter mile. We do not expect those times, however we have made safety an enoumous priority, as I will be driving the car at speeds upwards of 170 MPH. We have re done the suspension and lighten the car up an extreme amount.

Our second project car is a 1989 Nissan 240sx that features a RB25 Nissan Skyline motor and drivetrain. We will be debuting this car in about 4 months. Currently it features a S13 front end conversion. This will be one of our fastest street cars to date. We are looking at about 500 wheel horsepower on the street.
