Question

Oh dear, I had a 15 minute conversation with this chap about tuning and dyno'ing Subaru's and the fact they are AWD never came up!
Only kidding, yes 4WD, that was the attraction for me.
Rgds,
Chuck

Cool

The track that they have hired is probably Barnsfield Heath, a 3.3 mile MOD test track near Matchams. I used to do road racing around this track (push bike) and its pretty narrow in places, especially the 'chicane', it's very bumpy too but in all a good place to test the handling etc. I always fancied driving around it and a mate in the MR2 owners club had a go not long ago, said it was good fun .

Talking

Just got back from another weekend in Bournemouth and noticed in the local rag that a company called Eclipse has begun operations down there and were advertising a Dyno service. I just finished speaking to Mike down there and he says road will be operational at the end of September. Power run will be £60, and I am already talking to him about a group discount . They have a couple of ex rally guys (sorry cant remeber all the details) and so claim to have good contacts in the trade.
They will do servicing (cheaper than main dealer) and all the usual mod stuff. Was refreshing to hear that they won't recomend a brake kit yet - need to do research.(Or maybe need to cut a deal with a supplier say the cynics )
On the ECU front Pectel and Motec, and Superchips - Mike was aware of their reputation with Scoobies .
Mongoose exhausts, but can source what you want.
Lastly, they have hired a track (Avon Park?) near Ringwood on Sep 23rd where for £120 you get to go mental. It will be 1 car at a time on the track though - idea is more for identifing cars strengths and weakneses than racing.
I don't have any interest in the company, just wanted to spread the knowledge.
And I think a winter r/r shootout may be in order!
Eclipse - phone 01202 580011
Cheers,
Chuck

Are you sure it's a 4WD dyno?

Hi,

Ive obviously caught this thread a little late having just read it but someone showed me the advert I rang them this morning.

They seem pretty friendly and I asked them if they had a rolling road and they said its comming next month. I specifically asked if it was for 4wd and they said it would be both 2wd and 4wd.

They will do tunning once they got it.

Matchams Lane, uhm, I wrote off a car on that road . My fault too.
