Default rear wash wipe

If an Impreza has a rear wash wipe does this mean its a grey import?

If its a 'Classic' then its more than likely; some people have converted UK cars though.

Normally yes, but thats saloons, there are the odd exception though (P1, 22B) so you would really need to check the engine/chassis codes>> www.sidc.co.uk and look under faq's.

If youre looking at the car, the chassis number will be a bigger give away as it will start E-GC8xxxxxx rather than have a 17 digit VIN number.

If its in KM then its definately a none uk car.
Price will depend on the condition of the car, service history, mechanical reliability (ie it may have full service history but be a right clapped out heap as the previous owner may not have wanted it repaired) and then you have to see if its been run on 100 ron fuel (is this just imported or been in the uk for a while?)
If its been in the uk a while, ask the owner what fuel they put in it, if its unleaded just walk away, chances are the engine could have suffered some damage, or let the owner take you out, if its ragged from cold also walk away, shows how mechanically sympathetic they are.....

With regard to value; I have no idea. Impreza values are falling through the floor due to over-supply and the huge influx of ****e from docks auctions. A good car should still be worth good money but most people buy on price and cant tell their **** from their elbow anyway. Whilst the 'value' of good cars is being pulled down to that of the poor cars; I expect that the genuinely good cars' values will rise eventually.

Id look on autotrader.co.uk, see what the cheapest price is and offer that; its what any other prospective buyer will do irrespective of its condidtion. Btw; if its a 1993 youve answered your own question; its certainly an 'import' as they werent imported by IM until 1994.

Should also add that if its a 93 k its going to be due a major service next (cambelt, all diff oils etc) which could set you back 600+ quid.

Depends on how old you are for insurance? and how many NCB you have.
Quite alot of insurance co's are now only doing over 30's on grey imports, though it also depends on where you live.
