If Malta is in the EU (I'm not sure), if so it would be classed as a Europe spec car and come with the pan european 3 year warrenty and a cat 1 alarm.
If it is its a good price (if its MY05). £15K seems the price for the last lot of the MY04's.
Ask to see the EU certificate of conformity (SP??)

Malta is in the EU now but worth checking on the Cat 1 alarm, adds a few hundred to the OTR if you have to do it yourself.

That price for a 2005 WRX Euro Import is very good. Cyprus is now part of the EU and therefore the car should come with a 3yr warranty and UK dealers are obliged to carry out any warranty work *once registered* with IM (International Motors).
Don;t forget to add CAT1 alarm, road tax, locking wheel nuts, and other misc otr charges such as metallic paint etc on top of that price. I was quoted £16,495 for a similar spec'd car from http://www.car-imports-direct.com with all the extras I quoted above.

And no I haven't heard of them before.

If it's www.allbrandsnew.com as linked at the bottom of the page the price is actually £15,702 OTR.

I enquired with them and apparently the £14,999 is the price for a base model in solid colour which they will not supply.

£15,702 is the OTR price including 12 months RFL, metallic paint, plates, first registration fee, 3 year Subaru pan-European warranty. The cars are also fitted with the factory audio system and a basic alarm system (not CAT1).

They are based in the Humberside area and I believe the delivery charge from there to anywhere in the UK is about £170.

All in all it's quite a deal even if you have to shell out for a CAT1 upgrade. (It wont cost you £4k !!!)

And I shouldn't think it will be worth £4k less than a UK supplied one when it comes to sell either.

Sounds good but check out their APR if your taking out finance
You wont have a cat 1 alarm either, it will be extra which is a pain
Also check the cars specification, they can change from country to country, you may be missing out on something!

Wink Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. Sales man has quoted me that the car is full UK spec(I have my Doubts at that price). Should be interesting, I will put my faith in the firm and order one. By the way they offered me book value on my trade in, but I have to pick the car up mid jan. Just as an afterthought does the car not come with locking wheel nuts as standard. As for on the road costs I would have to pay them wherever I got the car from. Time to bite the bullet, question is can I wait three weeks.

Thanks.
Andy.(soon to be scooby owner).

Actual OTR price for the STi is £20,702 and I believe they do part-ex although I wouldn't expect them to offer too much at those prices.

I'm not sure, it may be worth asking them but when my last imported car arrived (Honda Civic Type R) the locking nuts were in the glove box when the car was delivered. When you're saving so much, I don't suppose £40 for a set of locking nuts is out of the way.

I'm certain you won't have locking wheel nuts..!

My 05 from Allinance back in Oct cost 16995 with a cat 1 fitted and it seems that EU cars don't come with locking nuts..? I got a set off ebay for £15..!

Although I haven't heard of the company your dealing with it seems a good deal...

Just make sure you get the '05' service/warranty book, the certificate of EU conformity and if they haven't registred the car with IM you will need a copy of the original sales receipt from the country of origin to do it yourself (quite easy to do).

If you want any furthur details send me a PM.

Hi guys

Just ordered my 05 WRX in silver, EU import but UK Spec with Cat 1 etc. £16,599 plus RFL form virgin cars (www.virgincars.co.uk) - a little more expensive but at least it's a name you have heard of. they do PX as well, offered me trade price on my old Ford and when I argued they gave me just about what I wanted, when the paperwork arrived the difference in PX was actually an extra "managers discount" so they have some price flexibility too!

They only do the WRX tho... no STi listed

Enjoy
Paul

What I did like about www.allbrandsnew.com is the fact that you only pay a £250 deposit when ordering the car and pay the outstanding amount when you go to inspect and collect the car.

The £250 for the deposit was the thing that swung the deal. Have checked with my credit card company and if I pay by card I am protected by their purchase protection. They will waive the 3% commission at their end on the final balance. I then have 56 days to sort out best finance. Looks like Alliance and Leicester at 5.9%. I too looked at the virgin site but it seemed to have as little info as allbrandsnew. Big saving should pay for some extra toys(don't tell the wife).

Virgin update

Crossing my fingers so far seems to be paying off!

Ordered my 05 WRX in silver by phone on 22nd December, paperwork arrived and was returned 23rd. Just had phone call today (29th) to say my car had been allocated and handover date is set at 10th Jan (wasn't expecting it till early Feb!!) So up to now appears to be fine service!

I just hope things keep running this smoothly

Paul

I'm starting to get excited now

Virgin buy a lot of there cars from Alliance..!

I thought about having my car from Virgin but a few things put me off, there cars are usually pre registred, so your second owner on log book and they only came with 2 year Subaru warranty (3rd year was an independent warranty provided by Virgin, ie RAC gold)..!

I would verify this before buying, hence I bought my car from Alliance..!
