Default Approx £450 to spend on Scooby

Right...father Christmas has been quite generous. Already de-tangoed my car (when i fit indicators on front - are they easy to do?)

So Ive got around £450. (and maybe a bit)

For MY97 Uk Turbo I'm thinking of..

1) A mid-level rear spoiler to replace the low-level one
2) New (Magnex?) back box and possibly de-cat centre

Still got 8 months warranty remaining though so Don't know if exhaust bits would effect that?

Any other suggestions?

don't waste your money on a mid spoiler... go STi5

£450???
Go Zorst.... if you need a warranty claim... 'doubt it after this time' just have it taken off and the OE fitted back.

this was my MY97 turbo

As above, go for the exhaust.

Should be able to get a decent panel air filter as well.

Seen an STi filter for £40...says it fits all models and just goes in place of exisitng one. Adds "slight performace boost" I'm hoping it will be good for another 50-60 BHP

Don't put a Magnex on a scoob...who in their right mind puts one on...?

Get something like Afterburner Vortex, Blitz Nur Spec, SW Ninja, but not Magnex, good exhausts, but not on a scoob.

Personally, if you don't have an Origin bluei and a laser jammer, then these should be a priority.

Points are expensive, and it don't matter what mods you have if you lose your licence...

Well I had the choice of a number of zorsts for my scoob and I chose a magnex system. IMHO they are certainly more subtle than some aftermarket systems mentioned above... Depends on what you are after, boy racer or refined beast?

I picked up a cat-back system and K&N panel filter for my 02 STi for £400 all in!

Try here... http://www.roadrunnermotorsport.co.uk/

Just me tuppence worth...

Oh, and I'd go for a replica prodrive spoiler - I picked one up painted for my RB5 for only £250 or so... But I'm not sure if the guy that was churning those out is still doing so anymore:-(

£450 to spend.

I'd buy yourself an Originb2 if you havn't already got one. Great bit of kit this. Will save your points and no doubt money in time.

De-tangoing......

Easy. The side repeaters are perhaps the only ones that give a few problems. Just look for the arrow on the lens. Push down on lens and push in direction of arrow. You'll find the lens will then pop up and release. Don't be tempted to use a screw driver to prise it away from the wing. If it does need a little help then make sure it is non metalic.

Cheap spoilers always look cheap IMHO... a good STi5+ spoiler should cost £250+
its the finishing off that makes it look good.. if the body shop has a lot of work to do on it it will cost you on spraying etc.

Nothing wrong with MAGNEX zorsts... not the loudest but very good quality.
another STAR for RoadRunner too... got mine from there. Centre and Backbox.. down pipe was designed and fitted at the Magnex Factory FOR FREE.. as they used my car as a demo/test fitting car to a full magnex system.
4" look Kool

also STi5 spoiler is not so OTT compared to the 6. IMO

Save your money keep an eye on the signs at the side of the road with numbers and a red ring around them, make sure your speedo is the same or below. Sorted

Thanks for all the Advice!

Got a PDA-based Satv nav with latest Speed cameras and known mobile locations in...wouldn't mind a laser jammer though.

Got the car de-tangoed without a problem...not bad for a guy who hammers screws in!

Thanks again

I bought one of those sti 6 copy spoilers on ebay for sti 4. The finish depends on which body shop you use. I have known the owner of my local bshop for years and keep going back. Spoiler cost me 170 squid plus 100 squid to paint and fit.
See for yourself.
