Question WR1 alarm problem

Just today I took the car out, when I got home, I turned off the ignition , got out the car & a minute or so later, it locked itself! This is the first time the car has ever done this. It kept locking itself when I was trying to wash the car & I ended up leaving a door open to stop it locking. Then after it's wash, I drove it away into the garage, got out, shut the door... & the car didn't lock!?!? What's all that about?

Could I have done something to turn it into auto-lock mode for a short time? I haven't messed with the alarm keypad.

there are 2 forms of auto lock on the classic.

one locks the doors after 30 seconds after starting (this needs to be turned on). the other (standard) feature is to lock the doors after 30 seconds - only if a door hasn't been opened.

Hi

My car is a 2004.5 model year. I haven't changed anything, on the alarm - it's just started this auto lock thing this morning. However, it's not doing it now, so I wondered if I had inadvertantly pressed the keyfob while it was in my pocket, or something.

try just unlocking the doors and then don't touch the car or fob. on the classic (sigma alarm) it will lock the doors after 30 seconds.

if you open a door (and shut it again or not) before the 30 seconds is up then it will not try to lock the doors.

Yup, that's exactly what it's doing! Thanks very much for your help!
