Rocker Cover Gaskets
Hey chap/chapettes! I've got an MY94 WRX which is leaking oil like crazy from the rocker covers (both sides). I was wondering where the best place was to get the replacement parts? Will they be the same as a UK model and can I get them through any old motor factors or will it be best to go through a Subaru dealer (will they talk to me - being an import and all)?! Any advice would be great. Cheers.

Go to your local Subaru dealer and ask for 2 rocker gasket sets for a '94 Impreza (why mention you have an import if you don't need to - the parts are the same on import & UK models ). I think the parts are around 25 - 30 quid per side.
For each side you will want; 1 rocker cover gasket set (should be one big gasket + 2 smaller gaskets to go round the spark plugs), 6 x bolt gaskets and 2 half-moons.
You may find you don't need to change the half-moons (these fill the gap at the free end of the cams), but they do apparently crack and leak.

My 98 wagon is stuck on ramps in a garage this weekend as a certain subaru dealer in the surrey area supplied the N/S gaskets and not the O/S gaskets as requested, no half moons and only 3 bolt seals the poor bloke stripped it all out only to find he had the wrong side supplied

Dam expensive and fiddly to fit with engine in car! I must have done mine wrong as I still have a dribble on O/S (I/C reservoir side) Drips on the manifold and smells.
Is it best to apply a bit of grease or silicon sealant or assemble dry?
Cheers and good luck Ben

Did you take the air box, battery and washer bottle out to do yours? It does look a bit fiddley but I wouldn't feel rewarded without a few scraped nuckles!!
Cheers for all the info.
