No, the damage isn't bad, just a minor crease in the rear bumper. Hardly visible but I know it's there (if you know what I mean) it's a 54 plate car so hurt me more than it would have done if it was a couple of years old.

Moral of the story is don't get distracted when taking car out of garage. I started to put the post down then went and did something else then came back and my sub-conscious (read idiot) brain thought it was already down.

Well, my uncle had his car parked in the garage with my scooby parked on his drive. All of a sudden my alarm went off........came outside and saw he had reversed straight into my scoob!! His excuse....'I forgot it was there'!

He had it repaired for me, but the person who repaired it did a right crap job of it. So I had to splash the cash to get it done properly (thanks again to Scooby Clinic).

what do I think of my uncle? He's a "£$%^&**@~!

Never understood why people reverse out of garages, drives etc. Fiddly manoeuvres with the engine cold. Better to reverse in at the end of a long drive, and drive straight out afterwards.

You wouldn't do silly things like the above, either.

Sounds nasty mate.

You be horrified how many times I've reversed out the garage and clubbed the wing mirrors!!!!

I've bought some folding ones of a JDM car so hopefully they'll last a little longer.

I don't normally bite but thought I had to on this one.

2 reasons really.

1) The design of the drive just makes it easier to drive in / reverse out

But (more importantly)

2) Garage wider on the right than the left (of the door). Meaning if I reversed in, I couldn't get out of the car

My next door neighbour reversed his three week old Lexus into a full sized builders skip that was at the end of his drive. Claimed he forgot it was there and didn't see it - long drive as well so he had some speed up (comparitively). £5K repair bill - whoops!!

Still, he always used to reverse off his drive at a stupid speed so I guess he won't do that any more

tiggers.
