15mins later the old bill turned up and the station is less than a mile away!!!
as the theives drove down the road in his scooby and her X5 they passed the old bill in the same street!
The Tracker was activated on both cars immediatly and at 11 oclock todayboth cars were found 100miles away !! Wheels on both missing interior in scooby missing all ICE missing and all personal belongings missing !!!

No chance, mine are beside my bed right next to my mobile phone!!!

These scumbags will do allmost anything to get what they want.
If that means injuring someone, they dont care
He should be insured against the loss though.
It could come down to the scooby or the safety of his family
Pass him our good wishes.

I had the same thoughts with regards to keys...
We leave all keys on a hook next to the back door - if it's a choice between the safety of the family or the car being nicked...

OK just got off the fone to him! His wife is sedated after delayed shocck and police been there all day!!!
it seems that they had removed the window from it's rubber and climbed in.
it turns out that what woke him was the smell of Ganger and as they dont smoke he thought the house was on fire !!
socco have finger printed but no luck!
a neighbour had seen two guys hangin around yesterday afternoon , and had took cars reg no !! it turned out to be stolen !
The scooby was a bonus as the police seem to think it was the x5 they were after but they did say that this was the 3rd scooby in a week in our area!!
They had also ripped out the dash and the roof lining looking for the tracker ! but they did not find it !
and the police said he did the right thing handing the keys over
because the one guy who did not is now in Hospital with fire arms wounds
so just be carefull! ......mav

Feckin Hell!
This doesn't even bear thinking about does it? What type of low life scum would do this as you slept in your bed? This country gets worse and worse, and as for the insurers! What's all that about?
One word... FUBAR...
Best Wishes to your pal and his family, hope they are able to enjoy Christmas with the civility and peace with which it is normally associated.

I couldn't sleep at night if our alarm wasn't on! I know it probably wouldn't stop them still trying to get the keys, however it could give you valuable seconds to respond! Be that locking the bedroom door, phoning the old bill (ha ha- I said seconds not hours!) or arming yourself if you feel able! Or maybe just to wake up!!
Please send our regards to your friend and his family.
Jason.
PS It would be interesting to know where in West Mids!

"it seems that they had removed the window from it's rubber and climbed in."
There are a lot of double glazed windows - even new ones, which have the bead on the outside. Meaning that its a piece of pudding to take the glass out. My dad did it on next doors when they got locked out.
Just a flat blade screwdriver.
Stupid design.
Hope everyone is ok.
Seems if you have a scoob then you better put a cat 1 alarm on the house too nowadays!!

Suggest BT Red Care - it checks the line every 8 seconds... so if its cut the monitoring ctr know about it almost straight away and then send BiB.. there are also some clever systems which they can use to look into the property / listen in.

Its always a good idea to have your local police number handy. If you dial 999 from a mobile your call will be taken by a call ctr who then electronicaly send the job to the local plod. This can add 5 mins into the process.
Then if there is a problem you can call your local BiB direct from your mobile.
In Manchester this number is 0161 872 5050 and then ask for the control room.
