10 weeks for a write off cheque?
Just a quickie.
Is 10 weeks (and counting) normal to wait for a cheque for a write off?
Its just that its been 8 weeks since the decision was made to write it off and still no cheque. Ive had to buy another car and am still paying on the oringinal one. Im also moving house on the 10th Dec.
I think ive been more than patient. Ive spoken to the financial ombudsman who wants me to write to the firm involved (schofield insurance) to complain then get back to them.
Thoughts anyone?
Rob

I'm still waiting to hear if mine is going to be repaired or not. Luckily it's still drivable and roadworthy as it's been over 6 weeks since the bump and not a word from the insurance yet. Every time I ring, it's the same old "It's still being looked at" excuse.

it took them about 2 months for my brothers old impreza wrx. and why don't you get a courtesy car and tell the lawer to make the insurance company pay for it even if you don't use it, it will make them pay up quicker.

My WRX a few years back, well eeemmmm 6 years ago, took me 10 weeks, and that was with moaning on the telephone at them every other day. Within that 10 weeks though, they made me an offer at 9 weeks, I told them to get stuffed, and they made me another offer on the 10th week. Could be that with me moaning all the time at them, they thought sod it, he can wait!!!

My Astra estate was written off a few weeks ago ( I was shunted from behind), car taken away the day after, written off that day, hire car delivered to my home, cheque received 9 days later (Liverpool Victoria), perhaps helped by the fact the other driver was also insured with LV!!
Keep pestering them...
