Unhappy Why can't I sell my car? is it a bad time to be selling scoobs?

As per topic, Got my car advertised on autotrader as well as the for sale - cars forum.

Only interest i've really had so far is from several muppets in nigeria who I promtly told to get a life!

Does that mean it's actually the best time to buy? I find that hard to believe after all the crap I saw over the weekend. (rant - to which I can add two more cars that I went to see on Sunday, both Audi 80 1.9 TDI estates - one had no oil in it and the other had a door that was a different colour from the rest of the car. Gaaaahh!!)

I know they say that....but do people who can afford to run a Subaru really have to "cut back" for xmas?

I assume thats what you meant?

Notoriously people have to contend with Christmas, have also just booked or thinking of booking a holiday for next year. It must be relevant as I suspect that new registrations haved been scheduled as they have to try and get maximum sales.

I'm not saying you wont sell a car this time of the year, but traditionally it is more difficult.

Regards,
Shaun.

It's not just Scoobies that are hard to shift. I've been trying to flog the VTS for ages. Mind you it doesn't help that everytime it goes on the market something else goes wrong! New cam-belt, new exhaust, new clutch all since I put it up for sale.. Grrrrr

have you ever thought that maybe your car is overpriced?? As far as I am concerned a decent, well priced car will always sell.

Talking

Sold the wifes Saab 9-3 convertibel a few weeks ago and got bombarded by calls from canvessas, esecially one trying to 'Give away a FREE magazine to help you sell your car'

After a while I started answering the phone 'Hello Church of the Martyred Pygmies'

During the ensuing conversation I informed the canvassers that we were selling because the Pygmies could not reach the pedals, when ever they tried to cahnge the converstion back to selling the car I would, shout ' Will you Pygmies stop fooling around or I am going to Martyre you....'

Just my sense of humour but the wife and I laughed for hours..

Eventually sold the car for an excellent price even though it was the end of the summer.. and had a reat laugh at the same time.

I had the same problem last year with both a fiat bravo hlx and my scoob. In fact ive still got the scoob cos it wouldnt sell for what i thought was a very reasonable price (£4500). Selling cars privatly can be a mare.

However opted for PX for rather than trying to flog my immac MY00 largely cos of the money grabbing guy in the red suit and daft beard lurking around the corner ...

My 93WRX was in the trader for 4 weeks and I got 1 call, 1 view, 1 sale! Got £5000 for a good car with a few choice mods.

Seems like the worst time of year to buy a car too
Only 6 Legacy B4s on autotrader right now and I dont like the look of any of them.
